About Us

Heritage Hills Outfitters was founded in 2022 by lifelong outdoorsman Cooper Sutherland, a guide with more than a decade of experience leading high-quality hunts across North America. From the flooded fields of Arkansas to the sprawling prairies of Kansas, the river corridors of Missouri, and the vast flyways of Saskatchewan, Cooper has hunted and guided in some of the most productive regions on the continent for some of the most premier waterfowl hunting lodges in North America.

Growing up in the heart of Oklahoma’s hunting country gave Cooper more than just experience—it gave him unmatched access to prime private land, long-standing relationships with landowners, and a genuine understanding of how birds use the region’s diverse habitat.

These local connections are what set Heritage Hills Outfitters apart. Cooper’s ability to read weather patterns, anticipate bird movement, and adapt to changing conditions ensures that every hunt is built for success, regardless of what the season throws at us.

Coopers many years of guiding across multiple flyways have shaped a style built on preparation, patience, and passion. From selecting the perfect field to calling birds into range, you’ll feel the difference that experience makes the moment the first flock locks in.

At Heritage Hills Outfitters, our goal isn’t just to put birds on the ground—it’s to create the kind of hunt that stays with you long after the season ends. Whether it’s your first guided trip or your fifteenth, we want you to leave with great memories, new friendships, and a desire to come back again.

Join us for the hunt of a lifetime—
and we’re confident you’ll return year after year.

Cooper and I met nine years ago while we were both working at Jimmie Jack’s Alaska Fishing Lodges. I have managed the luxury fishing lodges for many years, specializing in guest experience and hospitality, while Cooper spends each summer as a top tier saltwater captain in Homer targeting Big Halibut.

In the fall, we return home to Oklahoma, where I prepare for the next season in Alaska while also managing the day to day operations for our own lodge Heritage Hills Outfitters.

We were married in 2025 and are so blessed to welcome our first son in the fall of 2026. We look forward to sharing our passion for the outdoors and making every guest feel like family.
